Opening Keynote:  Omayra Mansfield, MD MHA FACEP

Dr. Omayra Mansfield is the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at AdventHealth Apopka and AdventHealth Winter Garden and a board-certified emergency medicine physician. She obtained her medical degree and master’s in healthcare administration at the University of Florida and completed her emergency medicine residency at Carolinas Medical Center. In her over twenty years in healthcare, Dr. Mansfield has seen and experienced the significant benefits that are reaped with an intentional focus on patient safety. She was part of a team that developed the first of its kind four-year longitudinal medical student patient safety curriculum at the University of Florida College of Medicine (UF COM). She founded a fundraiser and led the Alpha Omega Alpha Chapter at the UF COM that benefited the Sebastian Ferrero Foundation, while raising greater awareness about the importance of patient centered care in a culture of safety in both the medical school students and faculty.

 

Closing Keynote: Linda Ryan 

Linda Ryan is a seven-time cancer survivor, mother of two, founding member of ME STRONG, a 501c3 charity, and founder of Yo cancer. As a speaker, blogger, and patient advocate, Linda has become a valuable resource for patients, companies, and organizations throughout the world.  Her willingness to share open and candid details of her experience during her multiple recurrences and grueling treatments while refusing to let cancer control her life have inspired and motivated many while facing their life challenges. Linda thrives on travel, exercise, laughter, and most of all, being a mom to her two boys, Matthew and Ethan.

The conference will include more than 25 educational sessions and important updates on topics such as the new Florida Patient Safety Metrics and the status of the new mandatory Culture of Patient Safety Surveys and attendees will receive a Certificate of Completion indicating compliance with Florida Required Competency Standards.
