Annual Conference

FSHRMPS is pleased to announce that Kathryn Wire, Executive Director of the Center for Patient Safety will deliver the opening keynote address for our 2020 Annual Meeting & Education Conference. Kathryn has extensive experience managing risk and safety functions in acute care, including academic, tertiary and critical access, physician practices of all sizes, long-term care, and regional health systems, including the initiation of programs within large health systems. She has been a speaker for the American Health Lawyers Association, the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management and many other healthcare organizations.  She is a certified Just Culture trainer and has worked with a number of organizations to integrate Just Culture and shared accountability into their safety culture journey.  Her opening keynote will provide a learning experience that combines research and current trends with her experience and examples critical to safety and risk management.

Brian Boyle will deliver the closing keynote address and will share a personal and emotional story of his fight back from near death after a horrific automobile accident. Brian's story is about transforming a tragedy into a triumph, but it’s also about the universal ability that we all have to set goals and accomplish them. When a challenge is presented to us, we do our best to overcome whatever the situation is, and as a result, we learn something about ourselves through the process that makes us stronger. Brian’s incredible story has been featured on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, NBC’s Today Show, ESPN, CNN, and several other programs throughout the country that have earned Emmy nominations and awards.

Brian’s presentation will provide vital information from the patient’s perspective to help caregivers gain valuable insight that will leave them inspired to understand new ways on how to provide care to patients who are aware, yet unable to communicate. Join Brian as we explore the nuances of his hospital experience and answer the questions that will have us reflecting upon our own practice and policies.

The conference will feature two nationally recognized keynote speakers, 20 break out educational sessions, a virtual exhibit showcase and several online venues for member to member networking and socialization. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to satisfy statutorily required HCRM Florida Education and Competency Standards and earn CPHRM, CPPS,CASC,CPHQ,CHC & CHPC, Florida RN and Insurance Adjustor continuing education credits.
