Her contributions reflect a clear dedication to advancing Risk Management and Patient Safety and developing future leaders in the field.

Sheri Gibson MHA, BSN, RN, CPHRM, CPPS

Senior Loss Control Manager | Clinical Risk Management

Sheri is a Senior Loss Control Manager at AdventHealth Corporate Services with 10 years of experience in Clinical Risk Management and 30 years as a registered nurse, including extensive experience in emergency nursing. She holds CPHRM and CPPS certifications reflecting her commitment to advancing risk management and patient safety practices. Her background includes frontline clinical care as well as leadership in risk management, including six years as a hospital risk manager supporting safety and loss prevention strategies. She has served FSHRMPS in leadership roles, including Education and Membership Committee Chair, and as a presenter, instructor, and mentor across conferences, pre-conferences, and educational programs.

Maternal Health Safety

AdventHealth’s service standards Keep Me Safe, Love Me, Own It, and Make It Easy provided the operational foundation for this initiative, aligning with high reliability principles of mindfulness, resilience, and deference to expertise. Through psychological safety, transparency, and strong senior leader engagement alongside frontline teams, this enterprise initiative fosters shared accountability and sustained focus on preventing harm to mothers and babies. 

Risk Management partnered with Quality and Patient Safety to create durable interdisciplinary governance for translating recommendations into action. Results include improved safety metrics, fewer OB claims, and positive safety culture gains.
