Patient Safety Awareness Week

FSHRMPS is proud to support the Patient Safety Awareness Week.  During this week our society will celebrate the profession with programming designed to show our appreciation for the work that risk management and patient safety professionals do to ensure a safe and trusted health care system.

Patient Safety Awareness Week is an annual recognition event intended to encourage everyone to learn more about health care safety. During this week, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) seeks to advance important discussions locally and globally and inspire action to improve the safety of the health care system – for patients and the workforce.

During Patient Safety Awareness Week our society encourages all members of our profession to support the efforts by IH to advance the discussion and to contribute to this important week by highlighting the role of the risk manager in providing leadership for a safe and trusted healthcare system.   IHI provides a number of resources for advancing the dialog and creating greater awareness at the facility level.
