Patient Safety Awareness Week: March 8-14, 2020

FSHRMPS is proud to support the Patient Safety Awareness Week.  During this week our society will celebrate the profession with programming designed to show our appreciation for the work that risk management and patient safety professionals do to ensure a safe and trusted health care system.

Patient Safety Awareness Week is an annual recognition event intended to encourage everyone to learn more about health care safety. During this week, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) seeks to advance important discussions locally and globally and inspire action to improve the safety of the health care system – for patients and the workforce.  Click here for resources from IHI to help organize facility level activities for Patient Safety Awareness Week.

In support of Patient Safety Awareness Week our society encourages all members of our profession to support the discussion and to contribute to this important week by highlighting the role of the risk manager in providing leadership for a safe and trusted healthcare system.

We encourage our members to download and distribute our recently published 2020 Patient Safety Report

Click here for a copy of a “Dear Colleague” letter that can be used to distribute this report to facility administrators and other patient safety stakeholders.
